Triad Stage Presents Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters’ First 100 Years
 February 22 – March 5, 2017

(Winston-Salem, NC) — Triad Stage brings to live the amazing story of Sadie and Bessie Delany in this heartwarming play based on their bestselling memoir. Bound together by more than 100 years of life, love and laughter, they’re sharing their stories of an American century. From their childhood in North Carolina to the Harlem Renaissance to the civil rights movement and beyond, these remarkable sisters will win you over with their warmth and wisdom. A visit with these two ladies is time well spent. Opening Night is Saturday, February 25 at 8:00 p.m.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

The creative team includes: director Elizabeth Flax, scenic designer Natalie Taylor Hart, costume designer Clare Parker, lighting designer Miriam Nifola Crowe, and sound designer Aimee Phillips. Terry Alexander is the stage manager.

The cast includes Joy Lynn Jacobs and Olivia Williams, both making their Triad Stage debuts.

PERFORMANCE AND SPECIAL EVENT INFORMATION

All performances are at the Hanesbrands Theatre, located at 209 N Spruce St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101. 

Show times for Having Our Say are 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings. Sunday matinees are at 2:00 p.m. There are no matinee performances during previews.

Opening Night is Saturday, February 25 at 8:00 p.m. The Pay-What-You-Can performances are Wednesday, February 22 and Wednesday, March 1. Technically Talking, a behind-the-scenes discussion with members of the design team is Thursday, February 23, immediately following the 7:30 p.m. preview performance. 

The InSight Series with a noted expert who will be discussing the world of the play will be held on Sunday, February 26, immediately following the 2:00 p.m. matinee performance. 

PostScript, a lively, open discussion with the cast, will be held on Thursday, March 2, immediately following the 7:30 p.m. performance.
