Celebrating Hometown Heroes
By Thronton Wilder
April 11 - May 4, 2003
OUR TOWN is an American icon - a play that is part of who we are as a country - a family snapshot of our national soul. Few plays have so completely entered our national consciousness. We read it in school; see it on film and in the theatre. It was not by coincidence that so many theatres across the nation turned to OUR TOWN and in the wake of September 11, 2001. Here is a play that speaks about America - not an America of military might or economic power, but an America made up of all the little moments in this miracle of life.
