Description: Spend six weeks perfecting your monologues with Kate Holland, Actors’ Equity member and Triad Stage Executive Director. This class will explore acting technique specific to monologue work, as well as how to choose a monologue and how to prepare one for auditions. The final week will include a presentation in the Upstage Cabaret at Triad Stage.
Who is this class for: Anyone ages 14 to 99+ who wants to become more confident in their monologue work, preparing for an audition, or just wants a low pressure environment to work on their acting craft..

About the instructor:
Kate Holland (She/Her) is the Executive Director of Triad Stage. She built her theatre career on Musical Theatre, with degrees from Shenandoah Conservatory and New York University, as well as a myriad of regional and touring performance credits. A member of Actors’ Equity Association since 2008, Kate has been teaching and coaching actors for much of the past 15 years. Favorite credits include Carrie Pipperidge (Carousel), Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady), Mrs. Mister (The Cradle Will Rock), The Nurse (Romeo and Juliet), and Zelda (The Last Flapper). Kate teaches acting in the vein of Seth Barrish and the Barrow Group, as well as the physical work of Michael Chekhov.
