Wheelchair and Walker Access

Access for patrons with wheelchairs and walkers is through The Pylre Theater's main lobby doors at street level at 232 South Elm Street.

There is designated wheelchair and companion seating for The MainStage Theater, subject to availability. Seating for the UpStage Cabaret is general admission, but accommodations for wheelchairs can be made with prior notice.

The Greene Street Parking Deck at 211 South Greene Street has assigned handicapped parking spaces on Level E. Enter the deck from either West Washington or South Greene streets.

For access to the The Pyrle Theater's main lobby doors, take the deck's elevator to the ground level, go east on West Washington Street one half block to South Elm Street and turn left.

Assisted Listening Devices

Assisted listening devices are available for MainStage Theater productions and can be obtained at the box office before curtain time. We do ask for a photo ID to hold during the performance. There is no assisted listing system in The UpStage Cabaret; however the general admission seating is typically no more than 20 feet from the stage.

Hearing Loop

A hearing loop, also known as an Induction or Audio Loop, provides a crystal clear, fine-tuned wireless signal that is picked up by a hearing aid when it is set to its 'T' (Telecoil) setting. When a hearing aid user selects the 'T-coil' setting; he or she can pick up the sounds, music, and spoken word of our productions, without needing an additional listening device. This internationally certified, premium listening experience is filtered through a sophisticated amplifier that increases vocal clarity and isolates the sounds of the action onstage. Over 65% of hearing aids currently sold in the U.S. have telecoil technology; please contact your audiologist for more information about your specific model’s compatibility.

Sign Interpreted Performances

There is one sign language interpreted performance for each MainStage Theater production. Services are provided in partnership with Communication Services for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing of Greensboro.
