Edyta Oczkowicz

Edyta K. Oczkowiczis an associate professor of English at Salem College. She has served for seven years as the editor of The Thornton Wilder Society Newsletter and lectured on Wilder’s drama for The NEA Big Read. Most recently she co-edited Thornton Wilder in Collaboration: Collected Essays on His Drama and Fiction with Jackson R. Bryer and Judith P. Hallett (forthcoming in June 2018). Her essay on Wilder’s The Angel That Troubled the Waters and Other Plays appeared in Thornton Wilder: New Perspectives (2013). She has also published reviews and essays in MELUS: The Journal for the Study of the Multi-Ethnic Literature of the United States and MaComere: The Journal of the Association of Caribbean Women Writers and Scholars, as well as appeared in the documentary film Remembering Frederic: The Genius of Chopin (A Stone’s Throw Films Production 2012) featuring Rosemary Harris and Pamela Howland. She has been serving on the Board of Directors for the Thornton Wilder Society since 2008. Currently she is teaching a course on Wilder’s three-minute-three-character plays entitled “‘Carving Cherry Stones’: Creative Process and Female Characters of Young Thornton Wilder.”
