Maru Torres-Antonini is Visiting Associate Professor of Interior Architecture at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. An award-winning educator and scholar, Maru has a multi-cultural, interdisciplinary background that includes bachelor and master’s degrees in architecture as well as a doctorate in design, construction, and planning carried out under a Fulbright fellowship. Currently, Maru teaches design studio, history, and sustainable design courses, and will be directing a study abroad program in Spain this summer. She conveys to her students her fascination with the different manifestations of design in response to socio-cultural and environmental factors, and the easy logic that underlies them.
